Guest Lecture on ‘Importance of Industrial Training’

A  Guest Lecture was organized by the Faculty of Hospitality on ‘Importance of Industrial Training’. The resource person was Mr Bhanu, Manager HR & Training, Ramada Jalandhar City Centre. The students from B.Sc Hotel Management became a part of the lecture and got to know about the major and minor departments of the Hotel. He apprised the students about the importance of industrial training, the expectations of Hotel Industry and how to build up ones expectations when starting at the very first step into hotel industry as an intern.





Industrial Visit

About 40 students of Faculty of Design and Innovation (CAD/CAM) went for industrial visit to
Gripwell Handtools Ltd, Jalandhar. The students got awareness about the process of hand tools manufacturing through processes like forging, trimming, broaching, hardening, tempering and the process of die manufacturing through VMC machines which they are learning in CAD/CAM and applying the knowledge in the practical field for booming careers in Design and Manufacturing industries.

                Gripwell Handtools Ltd has successfully completed 65 years of an eventful existence, a period which saw Gripwell grow from strength to strength and emerge as a reputable & trusted name in Hand Tools in foreign markets.

GNA University conducted an outdoor sketching activity for the students

The Faculty of Film, TV & Media at GNA University conducted an outdoor sketching activity for the students of Integrated B.Sc & M.Sc Animations (Semester 2) and B.Sc Animations (Semester 2). The students visited Sarai Nurmahal, also known by the name Mughal Sarai, an inn of historical importance located at Nurmahal, near Jalandhar. It is a noteworthy specimen of oriental architecture and is perhaps the only known monument in Jalandhar. It is now looked after by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Faculty of Design (CAD/CAM) and Innovation performed remarkably at ISTE Robomania 2016

Students of Faculty of Design (CAD/CAM) and Innovation performed remarkably at ISTE Robomania 2016, National Robotic Competition held at GGI KHANNA. While Amarjit Singh, Amandeep of certificate program in integrated cad/cam and Pankaj Thakur of advance program in civil cad got the award titled “Best Project for Concept Design in the field of Computer Aided Designing”, another of our Student, Ms. Amanpreet Kaur of advance program in civil cad got the award for best overall project. The students were awarded the prize by Prof. Pratapsinh Kakaso Desai president ISTE, Prof. Dr. DS Hira ISTE section chairman and Prof. SK Gandhi ISTE section secretary and Engg. Kanwar JS Gill.
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System.

An Industrial Visit by the Faculty of Computational Science, GNA University was organized to Doordarshan, Jalandhar. The students of BSc- IT and BCA enriched their knowledge on Routers, Switches, Gateway and Virtual LAN.

"Workshop on Digital Marketing"

The Faculty of Computational Science, GNA University organized "Workshop on Digital Marketing" on February 3, 2016. The session was taken by Mr. Yasir Zahoor Rather from Gambig Inc, Jalandhar in which he elaborated the concepts of Digital Marketing and Social Media Networks, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), Creative writing/content and different ways to create professional profiles.

Creating Android Applications - An Expert Talk @ GNA University

The Faculty of Computational Science at GNA University, Phagwara organized an expert talk on ‘Creating Android Applications’. The talk was delivered by Mr. Amrinder Singh, Project Manager at GPS Solutions, Mohali. The oration was on the development of Android applications, environment, application components and resources, for the students of master’s and bachelor’s level.
 

GNA CONVOCATION CUM ALUMNI MEET 2016

Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment in India, Mr. Vijay Sampla graced the convocation cum Alumni Meet 2016 of GNA as Guest of honour on Saturday, January 30, 2016 amidst pomp and grandeur in galore.

On the occasion, Mr. Vijay Sampla, the Chief Guest honoured 34 toppers of various academic programs with gold medals. Nearly 350 GNA students were awarded with MBA, M.Sc BBA, B.Com, B.Sc (IT, HMCT and AMT) degrees.
