International Animation Day celebrated at GNA University

School of Art and Design of GNA University celebrated ‘International Animation Day’ by conducting poster making competition at its campus. Students put in a lot of effort and exhibited their talents, originality, global viewpoint and creativity through their posters. GNA University is constantly trying to promote creativity and original thinking among the students leading to all round development of personality. S. Gurdeep Singh Seehra, Pro Chancellor GNAUniversity motivated the students who participated in the event and blessed them. The enthusiastic students participated with a lot of zeal and displayed loads of ingenuity in the event organized on the occasion of the ‘Animation Day’. 




Jasdeep Kaur and Asha won the first prize, Anchal and Anshu Aggarwal secured second position and Auyb Khan & Sahibjeet singh secured the third position in the competition. They produced very novel, authentic and unique posters which displayed their high levels of inventiveness and creativity. The event was a huge success which was evident from the high quality of posters made by the students. Dr Tejwant Singh, Registrar GNA University, Dr S K Singla Director GNA-IMT, Mr Sunil Sarad GM Corporate Affairs GNA IMT, Mr C R Tripathy Principal School of Innovative Techniques and Mr Bhupinder Singh Head HR GNA-IMT graced the activity by their presence.

2nd International Robotic Championship (Workshop)

School of Design & Innovation Organizes 2nd International Robotic Championship (Workshop) at GNA UNIVERSITY on 29th & 30th October 2014.


Blood Donation camp at GNA University

GNA University conducted a blood donation in association with Hindustan Welfare Blood Donors Club at its campus. The camp was inaugurated by S Gursaran Singh  Chancellor GNA University along with Dr. Tejwant Singh Registrar GNA University, Sunil Sarad  General Manager ( Corporate Affairs) and Bhupinder Singh HR Head. While addressing the students S. Gursaran Singh stressed on the participation of youth in such socially driven causes.


 More than 200 students and staff members came forward to donate blood for supporting this noble cause. Vitin Puri President of Hindustan Blood Donors club, Gopal Lumba Vice President and Neeraj Bakshi PRO also thanked the students of the college for such an overwhelming response.

GNA University organises ‘GO CLEAN GO GREEN DRIVE’

GNAUniversity conducted ‘Go clean Go Green’ Campaign under the Prime Ministers’ ‘Swachh Bharat Abiyaan ’. As a part of the Campaign, GNA University organized a Cleaning & Plantation activity in the nearby village khati. Students of School of Hospitality, School of Engineering & Technology and School of Art & Design participated as volunteer in the campaign. They cleaned all the roads and done plantation in the village. Importance of hygiene & cleanliness was shared with the villagers and they were told about the ways of keeping their surroundings clean.




Villagers also supported the drive by actively participate in the drive. S. Kuldeep Singh and other volunteers from the Village also supported the activity by giving full co-operation to the students.  The whole campaign was promoted by GNA University under the leadership of Pro- Chancellor S. Gurdeep Sihra – Director & CEO, GNA Gears.  S. Gurdeep Sihra has also launched CSR Project by adopting Khati Village and support the Prime Minister Vision of ‘Clean India by 2019’. In the activity Mr. Sunil Sarad- GM, Corporate Affairs GNA-IMT; Dr. S. K. Singla – Director, GNA-IMT; Dr. Tejwant Singh – Registrar, GNA University and Mr. Bhupinder Singh – Head HR were also present and they supported the campaign by participating in the activity.

GNA University organized Kshitiz- Inter College BIZ Quiz competition

GNAUniversity organized an Inter college BIZ Quiz competition- Kshitiz on 15th October 2014.The quiz had provided a unique and exciting platform for students to encourage their thinking skills as they are preparing themselves to become future managers. The quiz was open for all undergraduate and post graduate students. It was inaugurated with the blessings of S. Gursaran Singh, Chancellor GNA University who expressed his happiness upon seeing such a huge number of participation. The questions were based on Indian / International business, general awareness, current affairs, media & entertainment.


 It was a tough fight amongst the participating teams who came from various parts of Punjab and Tricity and eventually, the team from HMV College Jalandhar comprising of Nitika, Navjot and Anubha won the first prize and were awarded with cash prize of 21,000 & winning trophy by the Chief Guest of the event S Gurdeep Singh Seehra, Pro Chancellor GNA University. He assured the participants that he would come up with more platforms like this to showcase the talent of the students in this region.   DAVIET Jalandhar won the second prize and got cash prize of 11,000 along with 1st Runner up trophy. Third prize was secured by Kamla Nehru college for Women  and they received a cash prize of 5,100 & 2nd runner up trophy. 


All the participants were given certificates of participation and Player of the round was selected from the losing team and he/ she was also given a token of appreciation. The competition concluded with the lucky draw and felicitation of the faculty members accompanying the teams.
